I came across an article today that referenced “Titus 2” women. I’ve heard of women embracing Proverbs 31 (great ministry!) but not Titus! Here’s what I found:
“2 You, however, must teach what is appropriate to sound doctrine. 2 Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance. 3 Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. 4 Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, 5 to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.”
A couple of thoughts:
1. The addition of avoiding “much wine” cracked me up. Did moms need it as badly back then?! (probably more, huh??)
2. Has anyone come across a Titus 2 type mentorship ministry?
3. I need advice from you “older women” 😉 who have been there/done that. What would you do/not do again when it comes to bringing home a second baby? How did you manage the new twosome? How did you find grace to fail and fall? Were you able to remain “self-controlled”? I struggle with this. Please – “urge” me! I appreciate your journey and your feedback.
Loving this Titus 2 discovery!! ❤️
(Plus another good reminder to respect our elders and let the older ladies at the store smile longingly at you or ask you too personal questions about your baby or your belly. We need to be more open to that knowing they come from a place of experience!) 🙂
Rejoice, my friends. And seek those wiser women in your lives. God Bless!
